Video Guide:

Step By Step Guide:

Requirements:

This game is only playable for Members.

You are not allowed to bring any items into the minigame, as all items are provided in-game.

Recommendations:

Starting The :

can be started by talking to the Head Mystic, located at the portal south-west of the stairs to the Bounty Hunter mini game. He will offer to take you through a tutorial to give you a better understanding of the game. If you have any items still with you, you can deposit these in the Deposit box south-east of the portal.

After the tutorial, you will be taken back to RuneScape where you can choose out of two different styles of games, being “Clan match” and “Free-for-all match”. In the Clan match you will be able to fight against different clans, and team up with with 2 other clans. The Free-for-all match, as the name suggests, is free for anyone wanting to play the game. You can pick a side by climbing over one of the two stiles.

Clay/Item Requirements:

  • Anyone can make or gather Class 1 items.
  • The ability to make or gather Class 2 items require level 20 in the relevant skill.
  • The ability to make or gather Class 3 items require level 40 in the relevant skill.
  • The ability to make or gather Class 4 items require level 60 in the relevant skill.
  • The ability to make or gather Class 5 items require level 80 in the relevant skill.

Pickpocketing:

Not a fan of direct combat? You can always pickpocket your opponents! By pickpocketing your opponents, you can gather the resources they collect and make a significant impact on their ability to gather clay. You are not allowed to pickpocket anyone who is at least 20 levels higher then you in thieving. (i.e. if you are level 20, you cannot pickpocket anyone at or above 41 thieving).

Playing the Game:

The is the key to the game. You must collect the clay, and use it, to gain points to earn rewards.

Types Of Mathches:

Free-for-all match:

Starting this type of match can be done by jumping into one of the fenced-off waiting areas located west of the portal. While you are waiting, you’ll see a small interface indicating how many combat and skill levels each team has, as shown below.

Clan match

Starting this type of match can be done by entering the large waiting area located east of the portal. The first member of a clan to enter this area will be made clan leader and can issue challenges or offer alliances to other clan leaders. As clan leader, all you have to do is right-click another clan leader and choose the option ‘Ally’ or ‘Challenge’. Accepting an offer made can be done by right-clicking that person and choosing the ‘Ally’ option. A maximum of three clans can be allied on both sides.

:

There are many ways to gather clay, as there are many possibilities of skills to use.

  • For Skillers:

To start, you should collect Clay Fragments, which is level one clay, which can be found around the arena. If you have a high enough level to collect in skills (e.g. class 3 mining), it is possible, although it will be faster with a tool. Once you have some clay, head back to your base and use the creation kiln. Select equipment on the left hand side on the menu that comes up, then choose the type of tool you wish to make.

Possibilities include:

-Hunter with a butterfly net;

-Mining with a pickaxe;

-Woodcutting with a hatchet;

-Fishing with a harpoon.

Now, head over to your chosen skill area, and perform that activity to gain clay and points. You will not receive experience for performing these activities.

Or, if you’d rather get clay in a less direct method, you can pickpocket your opponents, and you can get any items that the person may be carrying, whether it be raw clay, or a level 5 platebody! If successful, you will gain an item from their inventory, meaning they lose the item. If unsuccessful, nothing happens; you are not stunned like what normally happens when thieving. For the requirements for pickpocketing, look above in the Requirements Section.

  • For Player Killers

Unlike level restrictions in other PvP instances, you may attack any player, regardless of their level. (i.e a level 138 can attack a level 3) Players can kill their opponents as they go about their tasks. When a player dies, they will drop all of their items, so this is a good way for a player to gather clay or other items for their team or selves. If you die, you will spawn inside the nearest barrier controlled by your team, dropping all their items. The protect item prayer functions as normal.

:

Once you have gathered clay, you can use it on the Creation Kiln in your base. This is the exact method as you probably used making tools earlier, except this time, you will choose different options.

  • Cooking

You can make food using the kiln. How much HP the food heals depends on the level of the clay.

-Class 1 food will heal 4 Hitpoints

-Class 2 food will heal 8 Hitpoints

-Class 3 food will heal 12 Hitpoints

-Class 4 food will heal 16 Hitpoints

-Class 5 food will heal 20 Hitpoints

  • Herblore

You can also make potions with the kiln as well. How many doses are in the potion depends on the level of the clay.

-Class 1 Clay will make 1 dose potions

-Class 2 Clay will make 2 dose potions

-Class 3 Clay will make 3 dose potions

-Class 4 Clay will make 4 dose potions

-Class 5 Clay will make 5 dose potions

  • Construction

You can make barriers, which can be used to make a blockade around the resources. When a barrier is erected, only members of the team who made the barrier can access the resource. Members of the other team can attack the barrier to make it wear away and then disappear, similar to the Castle Wars barriers, except that players can continue to build onto the barrier while its attacked (thus replenishing and healing the barriers HP).

  • Summoning

Summoners will find themselves the ability to call upon the aid of new familiars inside the minigame. All the new familiars are beasts of burden.

-Class 1 Clay makes a level 25 familiar, that holds only 1 piece of clay.

-Class 2 Clay makes a level 37 familiar, that holds up to 6 pieces of clay.

-Class 3 Clay makes a level 58 familiar, that holds up to 12 pieces of clay.

-Class 4 Clay makes a level 93 familiar, that holds up to 18 pieces of clay.

-Class 5 Clay makes a level 139 familiar, that holds up to 24 pieces of clay.

The familiars will not disappear until the game ends, or they are slain.

Along with pouches, you can create scrolls that will automatically return the clay in its inventory to your base (NOT your inventory). The higher the level of clay, the more scrolls are made per clay.

  • Runecrafting

Players will also find that they are able to make special runes in this mini-game, that are similar to the ones used in the Fist of Guthix mini-game: the Catalytic rune and the Elemental rune. The Catalytic rune substitutes for the Mind, Chaos, Death, Blood, Nature, Cosmic, Law, Soul and Astral runes, while the Elemental rune substitutes for Air, Earth, Fire, and Water runes. The higher the level of clay, the more runes are made with each clay.

  • Smithing

Smithing is used to make the melee armour and weapons. Again the higher the clay the stronger the items.

  • Crafting

Crafting is used to make mage robes, mage staffs, leather armour, and crafting tools.

  • Fletching

Fletching is used to make long bows and arrows. The higher the level of clay, the stronger the arrows will be

Extra Information:

  • Altars

Across the arena, are several altars that players may use. These alters aren’t normal prayer alters that you would find across Runescape, as the ones in this minigame restore not only Prayer, but Summoning and Run Energy as well!

  • Fog Banks

Players may hide in areas of Fog scattered around the arena. This hides their presence completely, as players outside of the fog will not be able to see them, or their white dot on the mini-map.

  • Ditches

There are ditches that players can jump over using their Agility, which prevents melee attackers from hitting, but does not stop ranged or magic attacks.

  • Walls

Players may climb over or run around walls that prevent magic and ranged attacks from hitting when opposite the opponent.

Rewards:

Rewards in the are received in exchange for points. Doing various activities in the minigame will either earn or deduct from your personal score.

Items

  • Volatile Tool

When you operate the tool, it will transform into one of the following: hatchet; butterfly net; hammer; harpoon; knife; needle; or a pickaxe. All versions of the volatile tool can be used for normal actions (such as using a knife for fetching, or a hatchet for woodcutting), and you will get bonus experience for using them. After a certain number of uses, it will transform back into its base form. You may operate the tool 10 times before it will need to be recharged with more points.

  • Morphic Tool

This item is almost exactly like the Volatile Tool, except for a few differences: You get to choose what type of tool you want it to transform into. Also, you get slightly less bonus experience because of this. Other then that, they are the same.

-Level 40 defense is required to wield the melee armour, and 40 attack is needed for the scimitar.

-Level 40 Mage is required to wear/wield the mage armour.

-Level 40 Range is required to wear/wield the range armour.

The clay armor and weapons in general are unique, as they can transform into mage, range, or melee armor–and just with one set! To make the armor morph, simply operate any of the items while wielding it, choose which style you would like to change to, then any other clay equipment you have equipped will transform into that side of the combat triangle as well. The melee armour has the same stats as rune armour. The mage robes have the same stats as the mystic robes sets. The range armour has the same stats as green dragonhide armour.

Trivia:

  • On the day of release, there were several glitches, including one where only one team would enter the game causing the timer to be reduced to 1 minute instantaneously. Causes of this were believed to be overcrowding and the population on certain servers.
  • As of the day of release, players are able to teleport like normal, thus resulting them in losing all their items and points collected, and being removed from the game.
  • As of the day of release you can kill the goblin mystic in during the game by using magic attacks. He drops bones which disapear after the game.
